Kitchen waste often contain vegetable peels and scraps which are rich in minerals and other components. Incorporating kitchen waste helps to enrich soil fertility and provide essential nutrients for plant growth. Use only raw vegetables waste and avoid salt , oil and ghee for making compost.
Making of compost-
- List item Make a dig of 10 to 15 cm place a layer of soil and brown waste in the bottom.
- Place another layer of organic waste and dried leaves until the bin is filled add water to keep it moist ( avoid excessive water it can cause waterlogging.
- Cover the last layer with soil or brown waste.
- Always keep checking the compost should be at room temperature, moist and looks like soil.
- The compost will be ready in one to 12 months for plant use.
