Where should I place my croton, in the sun or the shade?
Croton generally prefer warm and humid condition to full sun, but their ideal placement depends on the variety and your growing conditions. Bright, indirect light is best for indoor crotons or those in tropical climate. Bright sunlight helps enhance their vibrant colors, but they need gradual acclimation to prevent sunburn. Too much direct sunlight can scorch the leaves.
Remember too much shade can cause dullness in leaves and lanky growth. Place your croton in your balcony to get morning sunlight and afternoon shade for the best balance. In case the colours starts fading move it to a bright sunny spot.
